The Toronto branch (a.k.a. York-Avalon) is undergoing a series of changes and enhancements that will lead to more effective and inclusive representation of its members. In time, the website will become an invaluable resource for news, information and material aimed at raising standards and attracting newcomers. We ask for your patience as the new features are added.

A MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN

Welcome to the website for RSCM—Toronto Branch.  Our Branch, at the moment, is the largest in Canada, incorporating much of central and northern Ontario and the Provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador.  We all have in common a love of church music and strive to inform and educate as well as socialize together as much as possible.  Our website, which is undergoing a tremendous transition and improvement, will hopefully be useful in providing information and important RSCM resource information.

I cannot speak highly enough about the music resources that are available to affiliated choirs from the RSCM (UK) shop.  Singers will find this repertoire of interest and challenge and it will certainly have a great appeal to congregations and audiences alike.  With your Individual or Affiliate membership comes a 25% discount on all RSCM resources and, with certain publications, the permission to duplicate the number of required copies.  This is a great money-saver in a time of fiscal restraint and when church music budgets have often been reduced.

In an effort to communicate better with all members, the Newsletter will be put on the website and copies emailed to each member who makes their address available to us.

I would like to see affiliates, in any province, use this website more frequently to advertise their concert programmes.  It is always interesting to see what other people are doing, even if distance makes attendance difficult.  I also welcome information regarding CD recordings from choirs, individuals, or friends of Toronto Branch who would like to advertise their work.  RSCM members, who wish to advertise a CD on this site, are asked to provide:

        A picture of the CD cover
        Information on the contents, or the programme titles
        Information regarding cost and where to purchase the CD
